corbett National Park

Corbett National Park is situated in Uttarakhand.It is the oldest national park in India and was established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect Bengal tiger. The national park was named after hunter and naturalist Jim Corbett.

The park was the first to come under the Project Tiger initiative.

488 different species of plants, 586 species of birds, 33 species of reptiles, 36 species of dragonflies are recorded here.

Barking deer, sambar deer, hog deer and chital, sloth and Himalayan black bears, Indian grey mongoose, otters, yellow-throated martens, Himalayan goral, Indian pangolins,langur, Owls and nightjars can also be found.
