The festival of Teej is celebrated by women in the Hindu month of Shravana and Bhadrapada. Women often do fasting and pray to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva in celebration of Teej. The festival is usually celebrated by dancing, singing, getting together with friends and telling stories, dressing up with red, green or orange clothes, henna-coloured hands and feet.
