Best Time to Visit

Gulmarg can be visited throughout the year with lakes and waterfalls during the summers and frozen lakes and snow covers slopes during the winters to relish. The months of April to September have moderate to cool weather that drop during the nights. The valleys are in full bloom during this time and the strawberry valley is filled with fresh and ripe strawberries to tingle your taste buds. The months of October to March have freezing temperature and are best for skiing and snowboarding activities.

  • By Air: The nearest airport to Gulmarg is at Srinagar at a distance of 35km away which is well-connected to all the major cities and airports of the country. You can hire a cab from the airport to reach Gulmarg.
  • By Train: The nearest railway station from Gulmarg is Jammu Railway Station at 290km of distance. Buses are available from Jammu to Srinagar or you can hire a cab directly to Gulmarg.
  • By Bus: Gulmarg is well-connected to the neighboring cities of Jammu and Kashmir and a few cities of Himachal Pradesh as well. Gulmarg is around 60km from Srinagar bus station by road.
