  • Bekal Fort : A historical building from the 17th century, Bekal Fort has contributed to the district's identity. It is located on a headland that extends up to 35 kilometers near Kasaragod's Pallikara village. The Kadampa dynasties, which are thought to have built the fort in the beginning, are thought to have passed control to the Kolathiri Rajas, Hyder Ali, Tipu Sultan, and then the British East India Company. The fort's tall, round laterite construction, which rises 130 feet in the air, is structured like a massive keyhole. They are surrounded by 12 meter high walls.

The Indian Archaeology Department currently takes care of the fort. There are boat services here that can take you to palm groves and adjacent islands.
