Best Time to Visit

Wintertime, from October to March, is the ideal time to visit Ujjain since the weather is nice and mild. The temperature during this time ranges from 10°C to 25°C, making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. This is also the peak tourist season in Ujjain, so expect the town to be crowded during festivals and important religious events.

If you want to experience the famous Mahakumbh Mela, which takes place every 12 years in Ujjain, the next one will be in 2028. The Ardha Kumbh Mela, which takes place every six years, is also a popular time to visit Ujjain. The last Ardha Kumbh Mela was held in 2016, and the next one is scheduled for 2023.

It's best to avoid visiting Ujjain during the monsoon season (July to September) as heavy rains can disrupt travel plans and make sightseeing difficult. The summers (April to June) can be hot and humid, with temperatures soaring up to 40°C, so it's not the best time to visit Ujjain either.
